Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program Online Information Session for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon and Hooksett, NH locations

The Dartmouth Hitchcock (D-H) Workforce Readiness Institute Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program is designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to start a pharmacy career. Individuals will be selected and hired by D-H to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians in the Inpatient Pharmacy, Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Centerra Retail Pharmacy, and Hooksett Shared Service Center. Remote opportunities are available with the Specialty Pharmacy and Call Center.

Program Overview

• Selected participants join a paid, 9-week training program. During the training period, you will earn college credits and an hourly training wage. This full-time, hands-on training program includes both classroom and on-the-job training. Courses included in this program include:
  • Healthcare professional communication
  • Processing and handling of medications and medication orders
  • Procurement
  • Billing
  • Reimbursement
  • Patient and medication safety
• Students sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam
• Graduates will be hired in a D-HH pharmacy and enrolled in a 2,000 hour registered apprenticeship – Pharmacy locations include Lebanon and Hooksett, NH
