An exciting opportunity awaits, for individuals looking to grow within a career with great responsibility that requires safely working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, task-oriented and highly efficient Operating Room (OR) environment. Being a Surgical Technologist (ST) is a physically demanding, mentally challenging, and incredibly rewarding professional role. It requires the ability to focus, problem-solve, pay close attention to detail, have excellent listening and communication skills, and an underlying commitment to doing what is right for patient safety and well-being. We’re looking for individuals who have steadfast attention to detail, are strong communicators, work as a cooperative unit, and be committed to quality patient care.
The Surgical Technology Training Program prepares trainees for career opportunities in the surgical field and includes a general education component that complements the comprehensive skills-based specialty training. Classroom theory and laboratory hands-on training are supplemented with clinical experiences to make up the curriculum of study. Individuals selected for the training program earn credits towards their Associate’s Degree in Health Science at Colby-Sawyer College.
